The Boards of the Westerly Armory

Westerly Armory Restoration, Inc.

Executive Board

The Executive Board of the Westerly Armory is composed of a maximum of 12 members and meets monthly as well as for the Annual Meeting in January.  The Executive Board makes policy, deliberates on issues of restoration, fundraising, operations, and image.  This board is expected to contribute substantially during the year in the way or ways best suited for each board member.  Members support events sponsored by Westerly Armory Restoration and work to restore the Armory, maintain it, and keep this historic building open for its community and state.  Current members of this board are listed in the table below the Advisory Board information.  Pictured below are some of the board members in the Staff Room at the Armory.

Advisory Board

To expand its base and provide service to the community, the Executive Board of Westerly Armory Restoration, Inc. has added the Advisory Board.  Whereas the Executive Board meets 12 times a year, the Advisory Board meets only once or twice annually (March/April and September/October).

The mission of the Advisory Board is to cull talents and ideas from adult individuals who would like to serve the Armory with limited time.  These individuals offer their respective talents to the Armory (i.e., research, display, gardening, educational outreach, event assistance, fundraising, program development, personal contacts).

In addition, the Advisory Board was created to expand the Armory’s influence – to reach out further to the community.  Membership on this Board will include no more than 40 members and membership from both the Westerly-Pawcatuck community as well as outside the community are welcome.  This board can have its own officers by election.

The Advisory Board will meet at least once annually with the Executive Board so as to create a communications link with the entire Armory board base.  Membership is by invitation from Executive Board members of Westerly Armory Restoration, Inc.  The Advisory Board is an exciting and easy way for people to participate in various Armory projects without much meeting time.  Members are urged to think of one or more ways they can serve the Westerly Armory.  Current members of this board are listed below.
