Below is what the applicant needs to review and fill out before a rental is approved.

** Please note that the museum and office are not a part of the rental
but the museum will remain open for viewing by guests.

Display cases and bookcases in the main hallways cannot be moved.

The Town may require a one-time event license – 45 days in advance.

I, the undersigned, as an authorized representative of the renting group, will conduct a site visit prior to the rental date.

 

In addition, I have read and agree to sign on behalf of the group, a copy of the attached rules & regulations.  I further agree to return a signed copy to the Operations Manager at least 30 days in advance with reservation fee of $50 and damage deposit of $300 in accordance with the Rules & Regulations and agree to comply with same.

 

I understand that I must inform members of my group that the Armory is an historic building and no adhesive, tape, tacks, nails, staples or other such will be stuck to walls, doors, or woodwork of the Armory or its furnishings such as tables.  All decorations will be of non-flammable material and will not hinder entrance or egress, sprinkler, or fire-alarm systems.  No holes shall be made in any part of the Armory or its furnishings.  Equipment cannot be dragged across the floor.  Sound levels must be in compliance with local regulations and in keeping with the residential nature of the neighborhood.

 

Finally, as authorized representative of the renting group, we agree to respect the historic Westerly Armory and its grounds in every respect.

All rentals are by final approval of the Board of Directors of Westerly Armory Restoration, Inc.

whose job it is to see to the safety and comfort of those using the building
 and the well-being of the historic Westerly Armory.

Event Rental Fees*
* Note:  Rental fees can be adjusted for smaller functions
(as determined by the operations manager, (401) 596-8554)

Fees are to be paid at least 30 days in advance of the event. For use of the historic Westerly Armory for an event -- its facilities and equipment --  the fees are as follows:

1. Reservation Fee
A $50 reservation fee is required at the time of application and will be credited towards the rental fee.  This must be received at least 30 days in advance of the event.  Proof of liability insurance by the renter (you) is required at least 20 days in advance of the event.

2. Rental Fee

Your fee is based on 1) group (profit/non-profit/private), 2) number of hours (including set-up, rehearsal(s), take-down/clean-up), 3) dates, 4) areas of the Armory to be used, and 4) reasonable utility use. These are included in your basic charge; the kitchen is an additional fee. Please note that the museum/office and upstairs is NOT included in your rental for storage, dressing, and the like.  Westerly groups receive reduced rates).  Discounts are given for multiple-day events and for members of Westerly Armory Restoration, Inc.  Exceeding set-up time(s) or event hours incurs additional cost.  A 4-hour event minimum is charged.  Rental fees are as follows:

                    selling/private parties
     $80/event-hour for local business/profit groups
         *Deduct $5/hour on above for local groups from Westerly 
Set-up/rehearsal fees:
$25/hour for non-profits    and     $30/hour for others
Removal & return of many items from drill hall -- $125
      Moving of stage:  $250
      Note:  moving display & book cases is prohibited; the Armory is a museum.
Exceeding of hours fees:
            $50/hour for set-up/take-down   $100/hour for event

3.  Damage Deposit

  A $300 damage deposit is required and can be returned (see Policy & Use).

4. Use of Furnishings

      Tables (rectangular -- ten 3'x8' and ten 30" x 8') -- first 5 no fee; thereafter $2 each (30 total)
       Tables (round -- twenty 60" & two 48") -- first 5 no fee, thereafter, $2 each (8 total)
       Chairs (grey folding with grey vinyl padded seats & backs) -- first rack of 40 chairs no fee; thereafter, each rack
                  (partial or full) $20  (200 chairs with padded seats/backs; 100 metal chairs)
       Podium with microphone/speaker -- $10
       Other furnishings (i.e., pedestals, oriental rugs) -- at discretion of the Operations Manager

5. Use of Kitchen
       Kitchen use NOT including use of stove or any standard or convection ovens, $35

       Kitchen use with use of stove or any standard or convection ovens, $30 per hour

Notes:
 
A. Police officers and/or firefighters may be required; if so, their fee is additional to above.
   B. Liability insurance (and special insurance for events with alcohol) is required.
