Friends and supporters of the Westerly Armory have a new way to support the rich past and the ongoing civic role of our historic building in downtown Westerly. Two years ago, Westerly Armory Restoration, Inc. launched a membership program that supports the restoration of the armory and provides members with special benefits. Membership assists in funding the ongoing improvements and day-to-day operations at the Westerly Armory. This landmark building, built in 1901 and on the National Register of Historic Places, houses military and local museum collections; serves as home to the Westerly Band; and is widely used by the community for fundraising, cultural and personal events. The membership program allows individuals, families and businesses to join at one of seven different levels. Membership provides the opportunity to remember veterans and support the building that remembers them. Membership is an annual program that, fittingly, begins on Memorial Day. Members are entitled to a continued subscription to this newsletter, an invitation to a special event to honor members (usually in January, a quality dinner, entertainment, & tours of the Armory), and discounted Westerly Armory gifts, apparel, & memorabilia. Membership levels are: Individual ($15), Family ($25), Friend ($50), Organization ($100), Corporate ($500), Benefactor ($1,000). There is also a special Lifetime designation available for $2,500.
